The Aldersgate Talks meets every Tuesday lunchtime to hear a short talk from the Bible – 1pm buffet lunch, 1.10pm talk, finish at 1.40pm. The entrance is in Postman’s Park (directions here).

Click here for our term card for May – August 2016, and here for details of our talk on “Muhammad and Jesus- What’s the difference? Does it matter?” on Tuesday 7 June.

Our aim is to grow disciples of Jesus Christ among the working population in our area of the City of London, through explaining and applying the Bible.

The fast-paced City lifestyle can prompt big questions about our purpose in life, and can be challenging for Christians trying to live for Jesus. Like lunchtime talks elsewhere, our talks aim to get us to the heart of the Christian faith, whether you’re looking into Christianity or committed already.

The apostle Paul described his ministry in Ephesus as teaching the Christian message “in public and from house to house” (Acts 20:20), with the result that “all the residents of Asia heard the word of the Lord” (Acts 19:10). It is our prayer that the same could be said of the City of London as many people come to our Tuesday lunchtime talks and to small groups such as Christianity Explored and Partnership groups, taking the message of the Bible out ‘from office to office’, so that many more in the City hear the good news about Jesus Christ.

The Partnership groups are small discipleship groups, meeting at lunchtimes or before work for Bible discussion and to pray together. E-mail mail@thealdersgatetalks.org for more information.

Prayer meetings

We meet to pray for the talks and for one another every Tuesday morning, 8.15-8.45, and on the first Friday of each month, 1-1.40pm.
